Ministry of Works and Transport sponsors inaugural Transport and Insurance Expo

The first Ugandan Transport and Insurance Expo was held on July 23 -24 at the UMA showground Main Hall.
It was organised by BDE Consult underthe theme ‘Technology Driving Safe Mobility’.
State Works Minister Asuman Kiyingi was chief guest at the event, which was the first of its kind in East Africa, and brought together transport and insurance providers, builders, policy makers, regulators and users.
Hon. Kiyingi said the Ministry was proud to partner with BDE Consult on the Expo, and encouraged participants to use the opportunity not just to show off individual achievements, but put their minds together to work towards the good of the sector in this nation.

A discussion on road safety
Hon. Kiyingi stressed government commitment to focus on the modernisation of public transport, and the improvement and expansion of our road networks, as well as pursuing a strategic
plan to push more cargo and passenger freight towards railway travel not only across the country, but across East Africa.
Organisers BDE Consult are a BPO firm focused on Information and Communication Technologies for development.
CEO Natalie Kimbugwe said the annual event would continue to grow to bring services closer to the end users, while promoting dialogue and development among stakeholders.
