About The Information Access Center-IAC
The Government of Uganda through the National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U) established the Information Access Centre (IAC) with assistance from the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of South Korea and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of Korea.
The facility is currently managed by BDE Consults and is meant to facilitate e-government initiatives to the public and government officials with the objective to create an environment for youth, students to benefit from new technologies and raise IT literacy levels while promoting the use of ICT for development, provide an incubation facility for ICT innovations and environment for students to interact globally with other students in research and knowledge exchange through forums and discussions across the globe.
The Information Access Center is open to both public and private entities for trainings, workshops, meetings and many more activities. It is hired out free of charge to government entities and at a subsidized fee to private entities. The Center opens at 8:30 am in the morning and closes at 5:30 p.m. in the evening. However, if the need arises, the IAC can be open 24/7 dependent on the client’s needs.
