INFORMATION ACCESS CENTER
The Government of Uganda through the National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U) established the Information Access Centre (IAC) with assistance from the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of South Korea and the National Information Society Agency (NISA) of Korea. The facility is currently managed by BDE Consults and is meant to facilitate e-government, create an environment for women and youth to benefit from new technologies and raise IT literacy levels while promoting the use of ICT for development, provide an incubation facility for ICT innovations and an environment for students to interact globally with other students in research and knowledge exchange.
FACILITY & SERVICES OFFERED
The Information Access Center is open to both public and private businesses for trainings, workshops, meetings and many other activities. The Center opens at 8:30 am in the morning and closes at 5:30 p.m. in the evening. However, if the need arises, the IAC can be open 24/7 dependent on the client’s needs.
A fully-furnished and equipped 30 seater IT Laboratory with high speed internet (both LAN & Wi-Fi), state of the art PA system, height resolution projector, smart board and great lighting
A 50 seater seminar room with air-conditioning, State of the art PA system, smart board, high resolution projector and great lighting.
Secretarial support (printing, scanning and photocopying) in both black & white and colored
Meals and refreshments are available offering break teas, lunches and snacks tailored to suit the clients’ needs.
